چکیده

Genetically modified (GM) soybeans expressing Cry1A.105/Cry2Ab2/Cry1Ac (event MON 87701 × 89788 87751 87708) and Cry1Ac 89788) from Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt) are valuable technologies for managing key lepidopteran pests of soybean in South America, but do not provide stand-alone protection against Spodoptera species. Here, we evaluated the use these Bt their integration with insecticides provided reasonable levels S. cosmioides, albula, eridania. However, frugiperda had higher survival on this soybean, showed low lethality all species evaluated. larvae that survived non-Bt comparable susceptibility to flubendiamide thiodicarb diet-overlay bioassays. Regardless plant type, field doses were effective controlling surviving larvae. We conclude is cosmioides also has control eridania, frugiperda. poor Nonetheless, both controlled by thiodicarb. Thus, integrated tactics would management fields America.

Life cycle and fecundity of Spodoptera exigua (Lep.: Noctuidae) on five soybean varieties

Switching among natal and auxiliary hosts increases vulnerability of Spodoptera exigua (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) to insecticides

The role of insecticidal application and host plant resistance in managing Spodoptera exigua has been well documented, but the effect of different host plants, on which the pest cycles its population in the field, has seldom been investigated. Therefore, we have studied the vulnerability of S. exigua against commonly used insecticides (cypermethrin, chlorpyrifos, lufenuron, and emamectin benzoa...

Harmonia axyridis (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) Exhibits No Preference between Bt and Non-Bt Maize Fed Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

A recent shift in managing insect resistance to genetically engineered (GE) maize consists of mixing non-GE seed with GE seed known as "refuge in a bag", which increases the likelihood of predators encountering both prey fed Bt and prey fed non-Bt maize. We therefore conducted laboratory choice-test feeding studies to determine if a predator, Harmonia axyridis, shows any preference between prey...

Toxicity of Some Commonly Used Synthetic Insecticides Against Spodoptera exigua (Fab) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Spodoptera exigua (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is one of the major pests of many crops in Pakistan. Effectiveness of different insecticides was evaluated against field populations of 2 instar larvae of S. exigua under laboratory conditions because in lepidopterous pests resistance is developed in 3 instars. Bioassays were performed through leaf dip method to evaluate the doseand time-mortality resp...

Responses of the cutworm Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) to two Bt corn hybrids expressing Cry1Ab

To examine the responses of the secondary lepidopteran pest Spodoptera litura to two Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) corn hybrids [5422Bt1 (Event Bt11), 5422CBCL (MON810)] expressing Cry1Ab, larval bioassays with Cry1Ab toxin, corn leaves or kernels and bagging on corn plants were conducted. The results showed that larvae displayed a similar performance when fed kernels, but not leaves of 5422Bt1, ...
